Your Lawn Needs Better Watering, Not More Water

Green grass and a low water bill can go together. It comes down to how your system is set up and when it runs. Our techs have taken classes through the Irrigation Association and bring that training to your yard.

Up to 50%

of the water used for landscape irrigation can go to waste from overwatering and inefficient systems, according to expert estimates cited by the EPA.

What Proper Watering Looks Like

  • Deep, not daily. Most Southern lawns need about an inch of water a week, counting rain. Deeper, less frequent watering helps grow deeper roots.
  • Early morning. Midday watering loses more to sun and wind.
  • Matched to your soil. Clay needs short cycles with time to soak in. Sand needs smaller amounts more often.
  • Right pressure. Too much pressure turns water into mist that drifts away before it reaches your lawn.
  • Separate zones. Spray heads and rotors put out water at different rates, so they should not share a zone.
  • Adjusted through the year. Your lawn does not need the same schedule in April and August.
